Solar control glazing

Solar control glazing is a special type of glass with a special coating that reduces the harmful effects of sunlight and improves energy efficiency in buildings.

They filter out the sun's harmful UV rays and reduce heat transfer, thus helping to maintain a more comfortable interior temperature. The solar control glass also optimises the natural lighting of interior spaces, improving visual comfort and the indoor environment.

They are playing an increasing role in architecture and sustainable design, contributing to energy-efficient and environmentally friendly building solutions.

Available categories:

  • Hard coatings (reflective clear, grey and bronze)
  • Soft-coated multifunctional glass
  • Tinted glass

We can provide a wide range of glass solutions (even in temperable versions) with a neutral look, typically low glare and high selectivity.

Factory-painted glass

Lacobel glasses are factory-painted glasses with a layer of paint on the back, which protects them from damage and ensures durability. It is typically recommended for indoor use, but its temperable version can also be used outdoors. Click on the Details button for the current color selection!

Matelac glass is painted on one side and acid-etched on the other side, giving a silky effect. It is also recommended for indoor use, for example for wall coverings, doors and kitchen cabinets. Click on the Details button for the current color selection!

Ornamental glass

Ornamental glass is glass made by a casting process. Usually one side of the glass is patterned, while the other side is flat.

The Ornamental glass is translucent, allowing light to pass through, but it is not completely transparent, which is affected by the pattern and colour. Typically 4mm thick and available in white (clear) and frosted.

Ornamental glass is most commonly used for interior doors, kitchen cabinets, basement windows and other areas where light transmission is important but where you don't want to be seen.

Etched glass

Etched glass is a translucent, frosted glass treated with hydrofluoric acid that transmits light but limits transparency. The etching process makes the glass smoother and silkier, making it easier to maintain, wear-resistant, non-staining, and resistant to contaminants.

It also tolerates cleaning products and humidity well, and is easy to cut.

Etched glass is practical for interior and exterior spaces, often used in bathrooms, kitchens, doors, glass walls, backsplashes and balconies. It offers unique possibilities for architects and interior designers.

Low-e glass

Low-e glass is commonly referred to simply as coated glass. The reason for this is that a thin metallic coating, invisible to the naked eye, is applied to one side of the glass during manufacture by a special process.

The metallic coating gives the glass a good insulating effect and is a popular choice for use in thermal insulation.

It is most often used for entrance doors and windows, and for surfaces where a combination of good light transmission and good thermal insulation properties is important.

Float glass

Float glass is so-called clear, distortion-free glass. In English, the name Float refers to the "float" glass manufacturing process, and is aptly named for this. The glass is basically transparent, but the thicker the float glass, the more the greenish colour becomes apparent.

This type of glass is often used for thermal insulation, glass doors and interior glass walls, but there are many other uses for the popular Float glass.

Available sheets sizes and thicknesses in box: 3210x2250mm (3-12mm)

Other glass types

Fire resistant glass: Robax fire resistant glass can withstand extreme temperatures of over 750 degrees Celsius. The glass itself is clear, light amber in colour and typically 4mm thick. Robax's heat resistance makes it an excellent choice for glazing the viewing and detecting openings of stoves, ovens, pizza ovens, convectors and cookers.

Mirror: the most well-known mirrors are flat mirrors, the ones you can find most often in everyday life, in the bathroom, in the wardrobe or on the wall. They are made of float glass as it gives the most accurate flat surface.
